TH403 NT Theology
3 credit hours

The course is an examination of the major theological themes presented by each New Testament author, presenting a theological outline and time line application.

TH404 Theology of the Trinity
3 credit hours
The course examines the doctrines of God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit. The course analyzes the existence, nature, and attributes of God. It focuses on both Christ’s humanity and deity, studying the important events and character of Jesus. It defends the person of the Holy Spirit, emphasizing His actions and personality. The student will receive a firm Biblical understanding of God’s revelation to man of Himself.

TH405 Cults, Sects, and Isms
3 credit hours
This course offers the student an extensive study of the origins, doctrines, and growth of selected “Cults” in the USA. This course will also prepare the students to witness to these confused groups, which are active in the USA today.

TH409 Philosophy of Religion
3 credit hours
The major task of this course is two-fold: (1) to give the cumulative evidence for the various problems involved in accepting the Christian world-view as the true Philosophy of Religion, (2) to deal with faith and reason and the authority of the Bible.

GENERAL STUDIES

GS100 Worship
3 credit hours
The course covers the background of worship, a personal theology of worship, music and worship, prayer and worship, and preaching and worship, including children’s sermons. The course also covers the offertory, the use of symbols in worship, drama in its proper place in worship, and the use of audiovisual components in worship. The course is of tremendous value to all pastors, and it will also give insight to all other Christian church members.

GS101 The Art of Soul Winning
3 credit hours
This course deals with the soul-winner’s task. Also provides the student with training, techniques, trials, temptations, and triumphs for the soul winner.

GS102 Baptist Church Polity
3 credit hours
This course deals with guiding principles on how Baptists govern themselves. Church Polity determines the form and function of the church. Also deals with church management and provides the student with an orderly structure for Missionary Baptist Churches.

GS200 The Life and Teachings of Christ
3 credit hours
This course centers on the Life of Christ as recorded in the four gospels. This course traces the Savior’s path from His birth to His Ascension with reference to geographical travels. Emphasis is placed upon the development of the chronology of the life of Christ.

GS201 Church Administration
3 credit hours
A study of the program and work of the local church and the Pastor’s administrative role in it. Also a study of the duties of officers and staff members will be dealt with. Attention will be given to program goals, promotional methods, communication, and interpersonal relationships. This course is required of all ministers

GS204 Personal Evangelism
3 credit hours
The course examines the methods of personal witnessing for the purpose of securing a decision for salvation on the part of a lost individual. The course examines the place of evangelism without the pulpit, the verses and methods to use in leading someone to Christ, and the place of the Holy Spirit in the witnessing process.

CE102 Christian Education
3 credit hours
This course contains studies in the following areas:  how to understand the Bible, teaching with results, keys to happy family living, building successful Sunday School, understanding students.

CE201 Christian Missions
3 credit hours
A search for meaningful communicative procedures and motivations which utilize and make functional concepts and understanding of the Evangelistic mission as a primary ministry of the church with biblical and Theological approaches.

CE301 Christian Ethics
3 credit hours
This course deals with what is morally right and wrong for a Christian. The Bible shall be the authority by which all conclusions are drawn. The course is required of all students.

CE302 Christian Counseling
3 credit hours                                                                                                  Students will gain an insight into the rich theological framework that supports and directs a biblical approach to counseling.  The course will combine practical living with biblical doctrine to show that God's grace is redemptive. Each student will learn counseling techniques to reveal that God can make something new out of the old sinful nature through saving power of Jesus Christ.

 
CE311 Principles and Methods of Teaching in Christian Education
3 credit hours
The focus of this course is the place of the teacher, student, and curriculum in the methodology of the teaching-learning experience. A practical approach to the improvement of teaching in the church and the development of teacher training programs will be made.

EV101 Evangelism
3 credit hours
This course is the study of the method of New Testament Evangelism. The objective of this course is to show that Evangelism was the central work of the first century church and also should be the central thrust in the life and wok of the church today.

CM101 Church Music
3 credit hours
This course deals with the ministry of music in the church. The objective of this course is to help both Pastors and Lay people to better understand the role of music in the worship experience. Also to be sure that music meets the Biblical norm and serves Theology as a legitimate response to God.

CIF101 Introduction to Computers
3 credit hours
This text offers a clear screen-by-screen, step-by-step approach to learning the fundamentals of Microsoft Office XP.

EN101 English Composition
3 credit hours
This course will review correct grammatical usage, including review of basic grammar, reading skills, and terminology. The course is required of all students.

EN102 English Grammar
3 credit hours
This course will consist of reviewing correct grammatical usage and improvement in written and oral expression. Also, emphasis will be placed on clarity, coherence, organization, and vocabulary building. Required of all students.

HI101 History of Western Civilization
3 credit hours
An interdisciplinary analysis of the key movements in history, which have formed our present culture and the thinking on which it was grounded. The major characteristics of our age brought forth and evaluated in the light of Christian basics.

HI202 History of Black Baptists
3 credit hours
This course will give students some insights on the contributions Black Baptists have made to Christianity. Also, the social, economic, and political influence of Black Baptists will be explored.

GS101 Fundamentals of Math
3 credit hours
This course focuses on basic number skills:  operations and problems with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

HI301 Church History
3 credit hours
This course will provide the students with an overall view of early Church History. Also explores contemporary phenomena such as religious rights, megachurches, and user-friendly worship services, as well as some of the leading personalities behind these movements.

HI 302 World Religions
3 credit hours
This course is a brief historical study of the world’s religions. The student will be given a concise account of the great religions by which men have lived and live today.

PP102 Parliamentary Procedures
3 credit hours
This course will provide students with clear and concise language with the fundamental principles and operations of Parliamentary orders. Also included is the importance of practicing parliamentary procedure in church meetings by church leaders.

PH102 Introduction to Philosophy
3 credit hours
This course is designed to enable students to identify, differentiate, and compare the various branches. Emphasis will be placed on the meaning of philosophy. Also, faith and reason, philosophy of religion, and philosophy from a Christian perspective will be included.

PY101 Introduction to Psychology
3 credit hours
Introduction to the scientific study of human behavior, with emphasis on fundamental theories and research methods.
